CLUB EGM 10 SEP 22 – POSTPONED

I must advise you that the EGM scheduled for Saturday 10 Sep 22 is postponed.

It was our intention to allow members to discuss the situation precipitated by the absence of a Club Committee.

To facilitate this discussion we had intended to supply members with the latest relevant legal advice from RBLS HQ.

However, we have been required to seek clarification and supplementary information on some of the advice presented.

A revised meeting date will be published as soon we are in possession of sufficient information to brief members.

NOTICE OF DUNBAR LEGION CLUB EGM – 10 SEP 22 at 10.30 am

An EGM of Dunbar Legion Club will be held in the Legion Club at 10:30 on Saturday 10th September.
All current members are eligible, and encouraged, to attend.
The Agenda will focus on the status and operation of Dunbar Legion Club in the absence of an elected committee.
A further important agenda item is the call for Nominations/Volunteers to take up offices or posts to form a new Club Committee.

You may be aware that the Dunbar Legion Club Committee stood down at their AGM and no volunteers came forward to form a new committee.

A Club Committee has now been absent for 8 weeks.

This state of affairs is not sustainable and RBLS HQ has been asked for legal advice.

As a registered charity , Dunbar Branch is prohibited from running the Club or making decisions on the Club’s operations.

In the absence of a Club Committee, the future of the Club is a matter for the membership alone.

To allow members to discuss this situation, Dunbar Legion Branch Officers are able to facilitate an Extraordinary General Meeting.

This EGM will be enabled by Branch Officers but they cannot participate in discussions or vote. However, Branch Officers will brief the membership of the facts as they are known and record any discussion.
